What is the relationship between Nubia and Kush?
Piye was a Nubian king who conquered Upper Egypt and brought it under his control. During the 25th dynasty Egypt was ruled from Napata.

Two of these are known: Alara and Kashta, who immediately preceded Piankhi. It also is possible that another of the burials may have been of Aserkamani, who was living in 950 BCE and who carried out expeditions in Egypt and along the Mediterranean coast of North Africa.
Kush was a kingdom in northern Africa in the region corresponding to modern-day Sudan. While the history of the overall country is quite ancient, the Kingdom of Kush flourished between c. 1069 BCE and 350 CE. The New Kingdom of Egypt (c. 1570-1069 BCE) was in the final stages of decline c.
The Nubian kingdom of Kush thrived for centuries at Meroë. Kush had its own dynastic leaders, trade systems, adaptations of Egyptian religion, and even its own alphabet and languages. Kush became weaker as Egypt was absorbed into the Roman Empire and Rome came to dominate trade to the north.
King Piankhi is considered the first African Pharaoh to rule Egypt from 730 BC to 656 BC.
