All about the ancient tribes
In order to hunt on the plains to the east, the Shoshone, Bannock, and other tribes of the plateaus to the west used to go through the park on a yearly basis. According to Crow Nation tribal chairman AJ Not Afraid, who granted permission for the show to be filmed on his reservation, the Paramount Network’s ″ Yellowstone ″ is attempting to change the stereotypical representation of Native Americans on its show by foregoing the usual whooping savage portrayal in favor of a more realistic portrayal.
