Shabazz (Arabic: شَبَازّ, romanized: Shabāzz) is the name of a black architect whose tribe founded the populations of Africa according to the doctrine of the Nation of Islam (NOI), The name was adopted by Malcolm X, initially when he joined the NOI.
The Tribe of Shabazz (Arabic: قَبِيلَة ٱلشَّبَازّ, romanized: qabīlah ash-shabāzz) was, according to the Nation of Islam, a supposed ancient Black nation that migrated into central Africa, led by a leader named Shabazz. The concept is found primarily in the writings of Wallace Fard Muhammad and Elijah Muhammad.
Elijah Muhammad, who led the Nation of Islam from 1934 to 1975, heard Fard teach for the first time in 1931. Elijah Muhammad stated that he and Fard became inseparable between 1931 and 1934, where he felt “jailed almost” due to the amount of time that they spent together with Fard teaching him day and night.
Thomas Hagan (/ˈheɪɡən/; born March 16, 1941) is a former member of the Nation of Islam and one of the assassins who killed Malcolm X in 1965. For a while he also went by the name Talmadge X Hayer, and his chosen Islamic name is Mujahid Abdul Halim.
Malcolm Latif Shabazz (October 8, 1984 – May 9, 2013) was the son of Qubilah Shabazz, the second daughter of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz. He was the first male descendant of Malcolm X. In 1997, when he was 12 years old, Shabazz set fire to the apartment of his grandmother, Betty Shabazz, causing her death.
Origin. According to the Torah, the tribe consisted of descendants of Judah, the fourth son of Jacob and of Leah. Some Biblical scholars view this as an etiological myth created in hindsight to explain the tribe’s name and connect it to the other tribes in the Israelite confederation.
Shabazz had different names throughout his life: Malcolm Little, Detroit Red, Satan, Malcolm X, and El – Hajj Malik El – Shabazz. El – Hajj signified the pilgrimage to Mecca, Malik means king in Arabic, and Shabazz was a family last name that identified his wife and children.

Fard preached that blacks (who were not to be called Negroes) must prepare for an inevitable race war and that Christianity was the religion of slaveowners. Accordingly, he gave his followers Arabic names to replace those that had originated in slavery.
