There are three major ethnic groups in Nigeria ( Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo ) with about 250 other ethnic groups commonly referred to as minor ethnic groups.
Lagos state is the state with the highest number of tribes in Nigeria because they have a mix of over 371 different tribes in the country. As stated earlier, they have a teaming population of over 45 million people.
The Hausa and Fulani live in northern part of Nigeria. Nigeria consist of many tribes and cultures, Hausa Fulani are the largest or most populous tribe in Nigeria, even though the Hausa and Fulani are different tribes but they are considered as one tribe due to the close relationship that exists between the two tribes.
Fulani. This group lives in such states, as Plateau. And as you know, it is very liable to clashes, herdsmen and terrorist attacks, which have made this tribe not very rich. They are the poorest tribe in the country today.

But when you want to count the tribe with the richest person as in who has the highest quantified wealth, then it is the Hausa-Fulani and followed by the Yoruba tribe and then Igbo. But by population of rich Nigerians, Igbos are the richest.
The oldest tribe in NIgeria is Ijaw tribe. Ijaw (also known by the subgroups”Ijo ”or”Izon”) are a collection of indigenous peoples mostly to the forest regions of the Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers States within the Niger Delta in Nigeria.

Hausa – Fulani The largest of the major ethnic groups, Hausa and Fulani have been politically dominant since Nigeria’s independence from Britain in 1960. Islam is a key component of their ethnic identity and continues to inform their role in modern Nigerian society and politics.
The widely spoken language is Hausa, because of the high literacy rate in Jos almost everyone speaks English. Jos is a very old city built as one of the most oldest cities in Nigeria during the colonial rule.
Kikuyu. The Kikuyu are the largest tribe in Kenya. Their mythology begins with the Supreme Creator, Ngai, leaving heaven for the snowy summit of Mount Kenya, where he made Gikuyu: father of the Kikuyu people.
The largest tribe today is the Guarani, numbering 51,000, but they have very little land left. During the past 100 years almost all their land has been stolen from them and turned into vast, dry networks of cattle ranches, soya fields and sugar cane plantations.
