All about the ancient tribes
David was the eldest of eight sons born to Jesse, a farmer and sheep breeder from the Israelite tribe of Judah. He was the youngest of the eight boys. Many of David’s formative years were undoubtedly spent tending to his family’s sheep. His call from the fields was answered by the prophet Samuel, who anointed David as king of Israel while Saul was still in power.
After the death of Ish-bosheth, the tribe of Benjamin joined the northern Israelite tribes in making David king of the unified Kingdom of Israel and Judah.
David was crowned king of Israel when his father, Saul, died, and the Tribe of Ephraim joined the other northern Israelite tribes in proclaiming David, who was then king of Judah, as the new king of Israel following Ishbosheth’s death as Saul’s son and heir to Israel’s throne.
According to biblical tradition, Benjamin was one of the twelve tribes that made up the people of Israel, and he was also one of the two tribes (together with Judah) that eventually became known as the Jewish people.

The kingship of David was anointed by Samuel in the presence of his siblings when he was roughly 15 years old.
When Saul, the first king of Israel, faced out against an opposing tribe, the Philistines, according to the Book of Samuel, he failed to achieve a decisive victory. God dispatched the Prophet Samuel to Bethlehem, where he was lead to David, a modest shepherd who also happened to be a gifted musician.

The son of Obed, Jesse rose to prominence as a prominent leader of the tribe of Judah during the reign of King Saul. In the town of Bethlehem Ephratah, he lived with his family. He would have eight boys and at least two daughters during the course of his lengthy life.
The Jewish people are the chosen people, as stated in the notion that they have been selected by God to be his particular people, or the Chosen People. Essentially, it means that the Jewish people have been chosen by God to worship only him and to carry out the purpose of communicating his truth to all peoples across the globe.
Preceding his conversion to Christianity, Paul was described as a Pharisee who engaged in the persecution of early disciples of Jesus, who may have included Hellenised diaspora Jews who had converted to Christianity, in the area surrounding Jerusalem.
